Will China's Economic Slowdown Cause a Global Recession?

I've had the pleasure to meet with Tony Nash of Complete Intelligence on several occasions. It's his speciality to look at the world as a math problem, and leverage AI to forecast the value of assets, currencies, commodities, equity indices and inform corporate intelligence around advanced procurement and revenue.

Tony recently published his views related to the China slowdown, and its potential to cause a global recession. Rich with data, examples and experience, he highlights the following & more:

  1. Rising risks in China, notably slowing growth which is not reflected in the official data.

  2. Demographic weakness coupled with unsustainable debt & monetary expansion

  3. A diminishing role for Hong Kong over the coming years, as financial and business hubs.

  4. The social contract, where citizens exchange social freedom for economic benefit under pressure as growth decelerates.

  5. There is a risk of a global slowdown in 2021.

The video is attached for your viewing pleasure.
